Project Description
The first phase of the H.O. Smith Botanic Gardens, totaling $6 million in construction costs, is located on a tract of approximately 35 acres on the University Park Campus. The 2,200 square foot site features the Overlook Pavilion, Esplanade, Event Lawn, and North Terrace Garden (adjacent to the site of the Conservatory). These facilities provide vantage points for viewing the developing gardens around them. Reese Hackman provided design for the main site electrical; mechanical, electrical, plumbing, and lighting systems for the Overlook Pavilion; and the site lighting of the parking lot and display gardens. The H.O. Smith Botanic Gardens is LEED Silver Certified.
