This $400,000 renovation transformed a ground floor recreation room into a resident lounge/study area that will establish high standards for similar spaces throughout campus. The project added resident lounge spaces, quiet group study rooms, a large group seminar space, and a high-end residential kitchen for student use. By creating comfortable and stylish spaces where small and large groups can collaborate, this new style of resident hall lounge responds to the growing demand for high-end accommodations where socializing and studying can be combined in flexible ways. The project also reconfigured an existing study lounge into much needed office and storage space for Penn State Housing staff. Reese Hackman provided mechanical, electrical, plumbing, fire protection, and lighting design services for the project.
