To support our focus on strategic growth, Reese Hackman has an immediate opening for a motivated, Senior-Level Electrical Engineer / Lighting Designer.
Position Summary
Are you ready to make a meaningful impact by designing innovative electrical and lighting systems in a dynamic and collaborative environment? As a Senior-Level Project Electrical Engineer / Lighting Designer at Reese Hackman, you will combine technical expertise, creative problem-solving, and leadership skills to design innovative electrical and lighting systems that enhance the built environment. You will play a key role in shaping design direction, mentoring emerging engineers, and ensuring technical excellence across every phase of project delivery.
Responsibilities
- Lead electrical and lighting design projects from concept through construction
- Design electrical systems including power distribution, lighting, lighting controls, and life‑safety systems
- Provide technical leadership and quality oversight across project teams
- Collaborate with clients, architects, and consultants to support integrated design solutions
- Build strong client relationships and support business development efforts
- Mentor and develop junior staff, fostering technical and professional growth
- Evaluate existing buildings and develop creative, energy‑efficient renovation solutions
- Ensure code compliance and design excellence, including NEC, IES, NFPA, and energy codes
Required Qualifications
- 10+ years of experience designing electrical and lighting systems for commercial and institutional projects
- Architectural Engineering or Electrical Engineering degree (ABET-accredited)
- Experience managing projects and leading design teams
- Strong technical, organizational, and problem‑solving skills
- Ability to manage multiple deadlines effectively
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills
Preferred Qualifications
- Revit experience
- PE licensure
