Low Voltage / Technology Systems Designer

Reese Hackman has an immediate opening for a motivated, mid-level Low Voltage/Technology Systems Designer. The successful candidate will collaborate with the Director of Technology Solutions and other Team members to create low-voltage technology designs for building low-voltage systems, including telecommunications, life-safety, security, and audio-visual systems. Flexible work from anywhere options are available for this position.

Qualifications

  • Associate or Bachelor’s degree in drafting technology or a related field.
  • Minimum of 4-5 years of experience in low voltage technology system design for commercial buildings preferred.
  • Must be proficient in Autodesk Revit software.
  • Self-motivated and able to work independently or in teams.
  • Good oral and written communication skills.
  • Reliable, detail-oriented, task-oriented, and organized.
  • Ability to continuously learn and enhance technical and professional skill sets.
  • BICSI Registered Communications Distribution Designer (RCDD), AVIXA Certified Technology Specialist (CTS), and ASIS International Physical Security Professional (PSP) accreditations are preferred but not required.

Roles and Responsibilities

  • Develop low voltage technology system design documents using Revit all Reese Hackman projects. Design responsibilities include:
    • Telecommunications design: IT room layouts, rack configurations, cabling pathways, and cabling infrastructure.
    • Life Safety design: Resident monitoring, wander management, fire alarm, two-way communication and other Code required systems.
    • Security design: Access control, video surveillance, and intrusion detection systems.
    • Audio Visual design: AV rack layouts, sound reinforcement systems, video display systems, and AV controls.
  • Review shop drawings and other construction correspondence.
  • Visit job sites for field investigation and existing condition survey.
  • Interact with clients, team members, and other design professionals.
  • Work on multiple projects simultaneously at various stages of design.
