Augusta Kroc Corps Community Center

SALVATION ARMY RAY & JOAN KROC CORPS COMMUNITY CENTERS | AUGUSTA, GA

Located on 17 acres in the historic mill community of Harrisburg, the Ray and Joan Kroc Corps Community Center is a 77,000 square foot recreation, educational, artistic, and worship facility. A joint collaboration between the architectural firms of Barker Rinker Seacat Architecture and Cheatham Fletcher Scott Architects, the building was designed to reflect the architecture of the nearby Sibley and King Mills. The recreational facility includes a gymnasium, fitness and cardio area, aerobics/dance studio, and leisure pool featuring lap lanes, lazy river, splash area, hot tub, and water slide. Also included in the building are event halls, music rooms, child watch rooms, and an administrative wing. In addition, the $33.9 million Augusta Kroc Center features the Franklynn Hall Arts and Worship Center, a theatre with a performance stage and 400 stadium-style seats. Reese Hackman provided lighting design services for the center, which achieved LEED Silver Certification.
