Located near the Vail and Beaver Creek ski resorts, the $10 million Gypsum Recreation Center is a gathering place for Eagle Valley residents. This former ranch site converted to municipal use was designed with extensive input from the community. All age groups and skill levels are served by the family-oriented center which features a climbing wall, multiuse pool, gymnastics center, weights/aerobics area, teen room, babysitting room, and administrative offices. The lounge area doubles as a community meeting spot, and a centrally located fireplace separates the lounge from a living area that boasts a cafe and coffee bar. Reese Hackman provided the electrical, lighting, audio/visual, and telecommunications systems design for this 59,300 square foot facility.
