To support our focus on strategic growth, Reese Hackman has an immediate opening for a motivated, Mid-Level Electrical Engineer / Lighting Designer.

Position Summary
Are you ready to grow your career by designing innovative electrical and lighting systems in a collaborative and forward-thinking environment? As a Mid-Level Electrical Engineer / Lighting Designer at Reese Hackman, you will combine technical expertise and creative problem-solving to support the design of high-performing electrical and lighting systems that enhance the built environment. Working alongside experienced engineers and multidisciplinary teams, you will contribute to projects from concept through construction while continuing to expand your technical and professional skills.
Responsibilities
- Design electrical systems including power distribution, lighting, lighting controls, and life-safety systems for commercial and institutional buildings.
- Collaborate with project teams, architects, clients, and consultants to develop integrated design solutions.
- Assist with construction administration activities including site visits and reviewing submittals/RFIs.
- Evaluate existing buildings and contribute to renovation and energy-efficient design solutions.
- Help ensure code compliance and design quality, including NEC, IES, NFPA, and energy codes.
- Manage project tasks and deadlines with support from senior staff.
- Continue developing technical knowledge and design expertise through mentorship and hands-on experience.
Required Qualifications
- 4+ years of experience designing electrical and lighting systems for commercial and institutional projects
- Architectural Engineering or Electrical Engineering degree (ABET-accredited)
- Strong technical, organizational, and problem-solving skills
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines effectively
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills
- Desire to continue growing professionally within a team-oriented environment
Preferred Qualifications
- Revit experience
- EIT/PE licensure
